Note: benchmarks have been made on backups created with iOS 3.x. Password recovery speed on recently released iOS 4 is about five times less because of improved protection in the new version.

Offline Backups

Elcomsoft iPhone Password Breaker does not use Apple iTunes, and does not need to have it installed. All password recovery operations are performed offline.

Elcomsoft iPhone Password Breaker supports Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista or Windows 7 with x32 and x64 architectures. Password-protected backups to iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, and iPod Touch 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen devices are supported.

Note: to use GPU acceleration with NVIDIA or ATI card(s), you should have the latest drivers installed. Please note, however, that ATI drivers are not perfect, and the latest version (Catalyst 10.4) may cause problems; it is recommended to use Catalyst 10.3.
